44 reraised on flop
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Villain is 45/27/8.5 over 103 hands. W$SD 44.4% He likes to miniraise preflop (2xBB), obviously very LAG, no other reads. I have alot of trouble playing small-medium pocket pairs when I do not hit trips. I limp/raise preflop 50/50 with these hands. What is your strategy when playing a hand like this? MP2 ($45.60) MP3 ($49.50) CO ($34.25) Button ($20) SB ($58.15) BB ($26.15) UTG ($52.90) Hero ($60.55) MP1 ($35.20) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 6 folds, BB calls $1.50. Re: 44 reraised on flop
My strategy now is to fold and wait for a better opportunity... I think your raise on the flop is fine, his push could mean some Q7 or any crap, or as well the flushdraw... I don't like calling with such marginal hands to such raises of loose players, as they sometimes can have hands as well I tend to underestimate that fact and have adjusted to that a bit.

Re: 44 reraised on flop
I have run into the same thing, especially lately. I have seemed to run into people calling preflop with crap (like Q7, 10-5,etc.) and they hit on the flop and I pay them off thinking they do not call preflop RAISES with that crap. The last week or so I have been running bad (especially when I call an all-in with the best hand).
At this level it seems that an all-in bet means they have something. I have not seen a lot of bluffing? True? |

[ QUOTE ]
The raise didn't work, fold here [/ QUOTE ]yeah really. With most hands you have a best case scenerio, this hand doesn't. Every hand pwns you. 2 overs with a flush draw an open end straight draw. Your equity in this pot is [censored] and you shouldn't consider calling this. |

Re: 44 reraised on flop
Easy fold but i did like the re-raise on the flop. Gains information from the player, he raised all in! I'm sure that's information enough. Lay it down and hope he was bluffing cos you can get all your money back when he times it wrong!

Re: 44 reraised on flop
Thanks for the replies. I thought this was an EZ fold also, I was just having trouble winning anything with low/medium pocket pairs and wanted to see if my line of thinking with these is correct.

Re: 44 reraised on flop
I don't like playing small pocket pairs in early position. for a few reasons.
1. If you hit your set it is going to be hard to extract value due to your position. 2. You can easily be reraised off your hand pf. I find nothing wrong with limp or folding that preflop in your position. |
