I shove this, do we have any reads on the villain here? We're at 10BB, minraises are usually bad therefore leading me to think this player is bad and possibly opening with bad hands, not to mention 99 is a decent hand and you have FE on your shove.

I close my eyes and push. I do think we see an overpair here more often than not though.

Case a) we think this is -ev and we fold (what it def. would if he has allways an overpair) or case b) we call when we think we are ahead often enough. |

Against randoms this isn't always an overpair.

This small raise just screams QQ+ to me coming from third shortest stack with small stacks in the blinds. Like he is begging someone to push over him.
Isnt this raise something "good" players do in this situation? I have quit doing it and stuck to normal raise or push here, but I have been rethinking doing it on occassion because of the number of times someone comes over the top with dominated hands. However, at this point in the tourney you should have some read which makes this decision easier. |
