Default AQ questionable raise

Situation: I knew Villain coldcalled ATo.

I know SSHE says fold here, but it was a tight table, so I figured that, if I could get him HU, I could probably get him to overplay his hand.

Would you have played it like this, or did I not only muck up the PF raise, but also the rest of the hand? What say ye, oh wise guys?

What position was he in with the AT? How tight is the table? I'm raising this flop and re-evaluating.

What do you mean? If you knew he had ATo here your raise would be correct.

This obviously depends on what he is raising with, most players have a tight range UTG although this is already relaxing towards UTG+3 (we're 8-handed here). What stats did you have on this guy and what do you consider a reasonable range for him.

(note: I'm generally folding this to a UTG raise unless I'm seeing a cheap flop).

edit: to say I'm raising this flop with all those flush & straight draws.

If this guy is a total donkey I'd raise this everytime. If he's more unknown, especially with his open-raising standards, it's much easier to find a fold.

As played, I definitely raise the flop. Seeing it wasn't capped pf AA/KK are less likely (not to mention you've got an ace).

So hands like AK, TT, and KQ are in the running for what we're ahead of. That leaves AQ (tied with), QQ, JJ, 99, and maybe (though less likely) some form of two-pair or pair + OESD.

I think I'm showing this down most of the time when this flop hits.

I actually like how this hand was played...

You can decrease the chances of AA/KK with his PF line and probably QQ as well.

If he had QQ/JJ/99, he would most likely check-raise either the flop or the turn.

So he most likely has AQ/AJ/KQ.

AQ - 6 combos
AJ - 9 combos
KQ - 9 combos

So we beat 18 and chop w/ 6... but if we raise, we give him the chance to fold AJ/KQ on the turn

It was tight enough to know 99 % certain that I would be HU with him if I raised, even from my EP.

Re the ATo: reviewing the hand in PT, it turns out I was wrong He was on the button, with one limper in front of him, and HE raised the ATo. Hmmm.

Raise the flop (or whammy that blank on the turn if you're ultra-confident that you're ahead).

Bravos, the hand played out well for us here but do you think that 3-betting this EP raise is profitable? Granted you can probably narrow his range when he doesn't cap. However, when you throw in the times that he does?
