Default The end of LOST

3 more seasons left

""Due to the unique nature of 'Lost,' we knew it would require an end date to keep the integrity and strength of the show consistent throughout and to give the audience the payoff they deserve," ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson said."

This makes me very excited for the rest of the series. My biggest fear is that they would cancel LOST without telling us what we need to know.

I always figured it would take anywhere from 5-7 seasons. Six seasons is really kind of insane though. I can't wait to download it all in like 3 years and watch it from beginning to end in like a week.

And I have been living with this fear for at least two years. How come I wasn't in the know.

I have lived with this fear for all of my favorite shows ever since UPN canceled Nowhere Man. Whatever happened to Thomas Veil?!?

almost bigger news is that the next 3 seasons will only have 16 episodes each, instead of 24.

so there are really only 2 'traditional' seasons left. I wonder if is a compromise between the writers admitting they don't have enough material for 72 more episodes, but ABC wanting 3 more seasons of ratings + syndication.

BOO.
2x24 > 3x16
Even if the 2x24 wasn't uninterrupted like the 3x16 will be. The only way the 16 is better is if it isn't a full year between each.
Of course this is selfish and I understand the monetary reasons for milking it. But I could envision ratings being shot to hell three years from now.

weird i know that since at least season 2, when i started watching, people have been discussing that it was only going to go five seasons. there was discussion part way through season 2 about what the focus of each season would be in fact.

it was always rumored, but there was never official word from ABC.

I would much rather have 2 seasons of 24 episodes left, but mostly I'm very happy that Lost won't go the way of X Files.
