QQ vs Ram Vaswani
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1070400
What's the play? Background info: The game had been very aggressive, lots of raising and re-raising. |

Re: QQ vs Ram Vaswani
I like it. If the game has been very aggressive, you won't know he has AA/KK until you lost a lot of chips. So given that you're gonna play and take it far, might as well shove now. Good chance he calls with a lower pair putting you on AK. If he has you beat, you were gonna lose anyway, and you might get some extra value out of his lower pairs now.

Re: QQ vs Ram Vaswani
i dont usually coldcall but this is a spot where i might.
folding is too tight if the game has been as agressive as you say and by shoving i think you fold out all worse hands and get called by AA,KK only. hard to imagine getting away from the hand on a 442 flop for 100BB no matter how you play it though. |

Re: QQ vs Ram Vaswani
It's relatively shorthanded right? And the game is aggressive? How is that a coldcall? Since you don't usually do that, does this means your alternative is to lay it down?

Re: QQ vs Ram Vaswani
i dont get it...
the original raiser has 20K you have 17K and the other two players have less then 10K. why shove? i mean the only reason to shove rather then make it say $5600 is so original raiser wont shove AK, however i have a hard time thinking he's shoving 20K into the 4th bet preflop with AK so i don't really see the logic to the play. |

Crap, I overlooked the stack sizes. OK I'm an idiot.
If all have 10k, is it a shove then? |

am i missing something? how does raising to 4K leave you 5K behind????? you start the hand with 17K. i think that mastering the basics of addition should be a prerequisite to playing 50/100NL. |

[/ QUOTE ] Wow sorry, Im sure that somehow the information has got mixed up, cos in my head I keep thinking 9k, The hand was 2 years ago. Not sure why I keep thinking I have 9k But anyway am I going to be able to lay down QQ to a player like Ram? Who has been super aggressive. (Just remembered he tried to bluff me, and thats how I got to 16k, and I sat with 9, now it makes sense) TheSalmon, doesn't have to have a hand. PokerGirl1 will re-raise with ALL the biggish hands AA,KK,QQ,JJ,AK and sometimes TT. I think looking back the push is wreckless, this is why I have posted it now after experience. I would just like to know, if anyone still could get away from it.I've been thinking about it for 2 years, and not sure how I could vs this particular person. Raise to 4k is the right play though in hind sight. |
