BRAG: Talked to the RZA about quantum mechanics in Washington Sq. Park

Anyone who's spent any time in lower Manhattan knows that when it gets warm outside, all the crazies (street performers, musicians, whacko evangelical christians, etc.) flock to Washington Square Park to unleash their bullsh** on unsuspecting NYU kids and other poor souls caught in their path.

So, of course, I was there listening to this dude hawk his book disputing Einstein's theory of relativity. He had a paper mache (sp?) Einstein that he had probably made while he was on all sorts of speed, but he seemed like a nice enough guy. So after i listen to this dude i'm off to the side eating some tomato bisque, cuz yeah, i fu**s with tomato bisque

and i stare over and i'm all "zomg it's the rza"

and lo and behold, he's talking to the anti-einstein dude. Needless to say, I go over and listen to the rza talking about quantum physics, the history of egypt, mel gibson's apocalypto, etc. I obv throw in a couple random comments so he'll actually turn and address me for like two seconds. A crowd forms around him, and the einstein guy is visibly weirded-the-f***-out, completely unaware who the hell this guy is or why everybody wants to hear him talk about the forces of the earth and whatnot.

BRAG: Talked with the rza about quantum mechanics etc.
BEAT: Didn't get an autograph, a pound, or anything else worth mentioning.
VARIANCE: RZA weirding out an eccentric quasi-scientist.

Because 20 people were surrounding him telling him they love his music, I talked to him about the Wu Tang Manual Volume 2 (subtitled "The Teachings," less Wu history, more spirituality, science, etc.), and he had that distinctive as hell voice/accent that he has.
