The game of Razz is similar to the game of Stud High except that in Razz you are trying to make a low hand instead of a high hand. The OP believed that he was playing Razz so he thought his low hand was good. However, good razz hands tend to be bad Stud High hands, so his low hand was actually a bad hand. This led the OP to put in lots of monies way behind.

When he bet/called on 5th street I was so baffled that I thought "I wonder if he thinks this is 7 stud."
