Default Lean photo editor?

I'm looking for a really lean photo editor that won't take to much computer power. I don't need much functionality. I'll mostly cut/crop pictures and that's pretty much it. I'd like an editor where you can easily have several photoes open on the screen at the same time. Tabs would be nice.

So something really lean and preferably free. Do you have any recommendations?

Gimp is pretty much the standard for free photo editors, but I wouldn't exactly consider it lean.

I also find the UI pretty confusing, but that's probably only because I'm used to photoshop.

I -believe- someone has made a modification to it though that will setup the toolbars to look exactly like PS.

~7mb for the binary - you may need the GTK as well.

paint.net may be more like what you are looking for. I've never used it but I have heard some good things about it.

www.getpaint.net

It is open source, and the screen shots make it look pretty simple.
