Google Tools
Hope this is the right forum.
I have been using Gmail for about two years now. I just recently got turned on to the Google Reader, Calendar, etc. Beyond Gmail, chat, and the reader, I find little need for the other stuff. Maps I use on occassion, Earth seems basically to be a novelty. I was just wondering what other tools people used and how they like them? For instance, checkout, scholar, picasa, or web accelerator? I have seen mixed reviews on the net, wondering what people find useful or shoddy. |

Re: Google Tools
They have a GoogleNotes feature, which is basically what I've been doing with my "Drafts" folder for a while; you can save bits of data, easily from webpages, and access them anywhere.
I got into GoogleCheckout when stores were offering BIG discounts for using it. The first month GC was out, BestBuy offered $20 off any $50 purhase. If that purchase also had a $30 rebate, it was quite the deal. (I haven't used GC since.) |

Re: Google Tools
picasa is great now that they have web albums. i love checkout as a consumer tool and a merchant account. Google apps for domains is invaluable for me (gmail for your own domain, basically).
Spreadsheets & docs are great. Webmaster tools kick ass. analytics is in another league in terms of usefulness, and website optimizer pro is gonna be huge once people start catching on |

Spreadsheets & docs are great. [/ QUOTE ] Good point. When we were compiling invitations for my wedding, my fiance and I could add our friends, while each of our parents added our family. Then we included the printer in the loop for invitations. Very networked. |

[ QUOTE ] website optimizer pro is gonna be huge once people start catching on [/ QUOTE ] Link? [/ QUOTE ] http://services.google.com/websiteoptimizer/ basically you can use it to have multiple ways of formatting/displaying/writing one part of your website, and you can use it to track which is most effective. Like if you were using google custom search you could experiment with different words on the search button and see which one was most commonly clicked... stuff like that... |
