.50/1 NL HU, boat on river... what\'s his range?
didn't save hand history, this is essentially it though.
50 / 1, i've got $130, he has a little over $100. he raises to 3 on the button, i call with A6o. flop 763 rainbow. i check, he leads for 6, i call. turn A, completes rainbow. i check, he leads for 12, i call. river 6. i lead for 30, he pushes in for like 83 total. i snap call. obviously i'm getting it all in here on the river, but i am curious as to what you guys feel his range is here heads up? i don't think he leads this flop with 45. what about K6? or any 6 for that matter? 33 or 77 as well. are there any other reasonable hands he is holding? |

Re: .50/1 NL HU, boat on river... what\'s his range?
It all depends on how you guys have been playing each other. Does he auto cbet? Do you float the flop often? The river push definitely indicates strength, I can't see a bluff for only $53 more. So his range should be 45, 36, 67, 77, 33, A6, and AA. Maybe other random 6s would do this but I have no idea how you or the other guy plays. Some people are happy jamming with any pair, some people like to take their time.

AA is part of his range, sure, but keep in mind you have an ace and there is an ace on the board, which means he has to have exactly the other two aces in his hand to win. I think A7 is more likely than AA here. I dont think you'll see a straight here much.
I say A7 or 67 and maybe 77/33. |

quick pair of questions:
why did you c/c the turn? given that, why did you lead the river? |

I think he check/called the turn for pot control and got scared villian would check behind on the river.
I prefer check/raising the turn. If he fights back, you have to play some poker |

Shoves 45, any 6 for value, and obv full. Wut does it matter? If you lost, bbv, otherwise ship it standard hand no theory to ponder. Raise to $83 btw is not enough to be bluffing, and any decent ace would flatcall this river instead of shoving, since there's like no value b/c board paired on riv.

Re: .50/1 NL HU, boat on river... what\'s his range?
I bet out 2/3s on the turn. He will probably check behind with less than Aces, and you will have difficulty getting a lot of value. Bet out the turn, and hope he raises. If he just calls turn, you can put him on a decent-good Ace and make a large river value bet.

Re: .50/1 NL HU, boat on river... what\'s his range?
yeah, i figured the same thing for why he checked the turn.
if you're checking the turn for pot control though, it's bc you think he could have a big hand. if he has a big hand, he's going to bet the river anyway. might as well crai on river instead of lead. |
