600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
Villain is a solid regular at 20/15/4. We are both aware that you don't need a monster to 3-bet preflop. Any comments appreciated.

Seems fine, too many hands beat you here

Looks pretty standard to me, On the river you are beat by to many hands so you got to let it go.

Re: 600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
If he is a solid regular he should have a flopped str8 / QQ here the majority of the time given the action.

Re: 600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
it's so easy for villian to bluff here on this board since we rarely have a showdownable hand and he can easily push us off a set
his turn bet leaves just enough for a PSB on the river; this is one tell that he is setting up a river bluff, rather than trying to squeeze value i call here because from his perspective, we can almost never call and this is a great spot to bluff deepstaxed |

Re: 600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
ipokeder what is his bluffing range. i.e. what calls flop and decides to bluff later. He should be pushing his strong overpairs on the flop. If he has a set I don't think he is bluffin. If he floated with something funky he freq has a Q. I like how this was played.

Re: 600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
underpairs, Axs, whatever
"he should be pushing his strong overpairs on the flop" no? 1200 deep you do not want to push KK/QQ/JJ on this flop. maybe AA, but that's still a pretty retarded way to play it imo. he can float this flop with no outs whatsoever and still make it a +EV play, just because of the flop texture. i don't worry so much about what hand he i think he has, as how often i think he actually has a queen as compared to how often he bluffs here not to mention we could be splitting~ |

Re: 600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
I didn't see this was deep. This significantly widens his range. I still think he has a Q here though unless he has the practice of turning made hands into bluffs. If he is that type of player you have a tough decision otherwise an esay fold.

Re: 600NL: Getting clever with 97s deep.
Why are people saying he has a Q?
