Re: Value bet this
My guess is your opponent made the flush on you and he's just hoping you don't have the full house. If he happens to have a 9, then he's either way ahead and wanting you to bet or he has a weak kicker like yours. I can't see a lot of hands that call you twice that would call again here and lose to you. I'd check.

Re: Value bet this
I don't like calling preflop w/o reads. Raise more on the flop and bet the river like half pot.

$66. Checking here is throwing money away.

$66. Checking here is throwing money away. [/ QUOTE ] Jigsaws could you explain this a bit more? I absolutely suck at vbing and check behind here always. Is the point that we win more the times villain does call (with his PP/Kx/Qx/whatever) than we lose when we get c/r (Flush, better trips) and lose? Vb'ing therefore is almost compulsory (with no specific read) in this spot in order that we maximise EV over time? Also, presumably you are not too worried about the FD because of villain's pf action, and presumably that's an important consideration in deciding to vb? Thanks. |

Your average unknown will just not play a flush/boat like this. They'll almost always put in a raise before the river, precisely because they're afraid you'll check it back. Getting check-raised on the river is very rare at these stakes. So to me it looks like we're ahead on this river nearly always, so I bet for value. Sometimes, if a player is very weak, he'll just call and we'll valuestack ourselves against A9 (we split against all other trips). If we get check-raised, we can fold. |

Re: Value bet this
easy vb, as said previously. I was wondering what people think of pf? Is this standard w/o reads?
