Default Major Party Upgrade - Official Q&A thread. (#5 of 5.)

Time for a new thread, to keep up with new and continuing problems.

Mike O'Malley and other Party Execs will be reviewing all these Official threads as soon as he can, so please add your new questions, answers and comments to this fifth thread.

Of course, this depends on the tone of the threads. If you ask reasonable questions and give reasonable criticisms, they will enter the threads more often. If there is name-calling and abuse, they'll stay out of them. It's up to you. Jim and I will be quite aggressive with editing and deleting posts to try to keep the threads as useful as possible for all of us.

Thank you for your support in this aim. It is much appreciated.

I'd like to know a few things about the image-deleting I've heard about.

1) Are your images only at risk if you've uninstalled and then reinstalled the update, or should people who just installed it and haven't done anything else worry?

2) What--if anything--is being done about the image bug?

3) When can we expect a patch to fix the various other software update bugs?

When will the turbo SNG's be available. And also why are hand histories written at the very end of the hand now, where before they were available while the hand was going on?

Overall I would say, just because another site is doing something differently than yours, doesn't mean you should switch everything to be like another site. You could have kept everything you had before and just revamped the interface and added a few new games, and I think you would have been TONS more successful than totally overhauling everything

Party,

What was the point of doing a month of beta testing if you were going to release software that didn't work? It's completely moranic to be using your entire client base as beta-testers (the versions are still identified as flippin beta, unbelievable!) with billions of dollars on the line.

A month of beta-testing?
I only downloaded the old beta from well over a month ago (IIRC).

did they do a beta of this version also.
Because the beta I had was nothing like this version at all.
Did they even do any beta-testing on this one at all?

Also - I think it's pretty damn impressive that we've had 5 threads on this issue (and I only had 2 or 3 posts in them as I've been away from my computer for much of the fun).

As I stated at the end of thread 4 though....I would have doubts that Party is reading any of this stuff anymore.
but I could be wrong.

I never downloaded the Beta, because I didn't feel like being a guinea pig. So, it was over a month ago, but the beta that was tested was not even the version we're playing now?

Is this correct? Absolutely unacceptable.

Yes, it's true the Beta looked nothing like this.

edited: I took the anger out, hoping we'd get real answers in this thread
