Default What modern buzzwords/sayings really get on your nerves?

This morning, heard a guy behind me, responsible for adding content to a new part of a web site, happen to be talking about having to only 'put up the curtains' and he'd be done. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

Only later did I realise he was actually talking about how his house removal was doing

That'll teach me to assume.

Anyway, if I hear any of these I want to hit someone: 'key competences', 'scenario' and 'where the rubber hits the road'.

Okay, these are computer/business bs, and I don't specifically mean these type of phrases/words only, I'd also like to hear other phrases the usual drones are parroting.

So, what ones are pissing you off?

I always cringe when I hear someone talk about 'gaining synergies'

ASAP.

Think outside the box.

I'm always telling my daughter I'll "BRB" (be right back) and that one pisses my wife off to no end,,,, so I enjoy using it.

You realize you are asking us to break away from our 'core competencies' and re-establish our 'corporate culture', right?

What makes you think/believe that they/anyone thinks/believes that combining/connecting words this way is correct/proper grammar/word usage?

We'll need a 'mission statement' for that.

synergistic
strategic alliances
having "issues" rather than problems. That one pisses me off to no end. It's not a [censored] issue, it's a [censored] problem.
