Default Brokerage offers me piece of IPO....

i log in and get a message that i am eligible for an offering through my brokerage account.

the company is called Interactive Brokers, Inc.

website here www.interactivebrokers.com

prospectus here http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/da...174744zs-1.htm

they are offering a chance to make a conditional offer with a price range of $27.00 to $31.00 and a minimum investment of $3,100.00

this would be a first for me so i don't know anything about it. what do some of you financial sages think of this? should i jump on it or is it nothing special? the date of the IPO is friday so i think i have to make a decision quick. thanks a lot for any advice

I wouldnt, if youre looking for a quick flip. This is an auction IPO, as opposed to an aollocated Ipo, meaning a lot of shares will be going to retaiol accounts (like you) looking to sell on the open for a quick profit. Maybe you see a $.25 "pop" on the open, just my guess. However, if your looking to be an investor and own the stock for a decent amount of time learn about the company, this link might help

You don't even need to bother the sages. Even a newb like me can give you the answer.

The Ipo priced at 30.01, the people I know who put bids in on average were only allocated 30% of what they wanted. This could mean a modest pop, but I still believe it will be something of a dud. Gl to those who are participating.
