[PS 100NL] TP: From Riches to Rags
My table stats aren't as important as the history that Villain (fatman5) and I share over the past ~125 hands, but fwiw I was running at ~30/20. His stats are ~45/10/0.4 during the first hand and ~66/10/0.4 during the second. I've been countering his game by playing solid hands in position against him, and pounding him with c-bets. He has tried to call me down light in small pots, but I've been getting the best of him. After a little bit of time, this hand comes up:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) saw flop|saw showdown MP ($59.40) Button ($98.50) fatman5 ($158.70) Ekos ($104.70) UTG ($136.95) Preflop: Ekos is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Button raises to $4, fatman5 calls $3.50, Ekos raises to $15.5, Button folds, fatman5 calls $11.50. Flop: ($35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) fatman5 checks, Ekos bets $24, fatman5 raises to $134, Ekos calls $65.20 (All-In). Turn: ($258.20) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) River: ($258.20) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Final Pot: $258.20 Results: fatman5 has 7h 6h (two pair, eights and sevens). Ekos has 9d 9c (full house, nines full of eights). Outcome: Ekos wins $213.40. SB wins $44.80. I instantly bet the flop, he pushed within 1-2 seconds, and I took some time before deciding to call. After this pot, Villain begins limping slightly more hands preflop -- he doesn't seem to be on tilt, but is likely playing looser in an effort to get unstuck. After a few more battles over small pots, this hand comes up: PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) saw flop|saw showdown Button ($118.25) Ekos ($221.80) BB ($118.85) UTG ($102.60) fatman5 ($133.20) Preflop: Ekos is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, fatman5 calls $1, 1 fold, Ekos completes, BB checks. Flop: ($3) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Ekos checks, BB checks, fatman5 bets $3, Ekos raises to $11.5, BB folds, fatman5 calls $8.50. Turn: ($26) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Ekos bets $18, fatman5 calls $18. River: ($62) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Ekos checks, fatman5 bets $102.7 (All-In), Ekos folds. Final Pot: $164.70 I instantly raised him on the flop, and he called within 1-2 seconds. I took about 6 seconds to decide what to do on the turn, and he called quickly again (note: he was not snap calling). On the river I took about 3 seconds to think before checking, and he almost instantly pushed his entire stack into the pot. This made me tank... and tank I did until my timebank expired and PokerStars made me sitout. I have no idea how I could call his river bet, but I'd love to hear what everyone thinks his range of hands is, as the only hand I can put him on is JT. |

Re: [PS 100NL] TP: From Riches to Rags
why were you c/r'ing the flop ?
against the villain ur describing i like bet/check/bet he probably hit a straight as he could easily have 66/JT/JQs |

Re: [PS 100NL] TP: From Riches to Rags
thanks for a real response
i ended up talking to a friend in a little more detail about this hand, and we agreed that a c/r here isnt as good a play as leading out |
