Default Why do I do what it is I do?

So I've got two 1/2 limit tables open yesterday and I'm just cruisin along. Right in the middle of decent session, which for me is like 5/100 BB, I just space out. I started thinking "WTF am I doing".

I started playing poker for the fun and the gamble. Now I'm sitting at 2 limit tables grinding it out, for what?

I've been playing less and less poker lately. I know I have a lot more to learn about the game and there's lots of room for me to improve. I still have to ask myself at the end of the day what does poker do for me.

Is it just good way to kill time and make a couple bucks? Or could I really buckle down and deal with the grind and make a living at this in a couple years?

Thoughts comments and advice all welcome.

For me its killing time and a few $, and the fun to spend the extra $ for things that i normally cant buy.

If you are young, use the money to create a other business option...own company...real estate..stock markets....

For the most poker will not be profitable for ever

it seems to me that poker is like any other skill. if you take the time to learn it well, be professional about it, don't tilt, constantly improve your game etc. . . have a passion for it, it can turn out to be a profitable lifestyle where you have the freedom to do what you will. there's alot of obstacles to get there and pitfalls along the way but so what . . . sack up.
