Default Downswing

Been playing for 5 months on Pokerstars and had a reasonable run, got my bankroll up from $50 to $725 and had found it quite steady going, just started playing 0.25/0.50 cash and don't feel out of my league. Of course I knew it would'nt last and i've read through these forums a lot and seen some of the downswings people go on, and i think i'm just at the beginning of my first big downswing (can't buy decent hole cards or hit a flop at the moment, 3 days so far with 1 flush and nothing else better than a pair). So I was wondering what the best way of dealing with it is, i've resisted the urge to start playing trash hands but my % of flops seen is down to 10% because of it and my BB per 100 hands has dropped from 14 to 6. Any advice would be a great help as it's getting a little disheartening.

Sounds more like regression to the mean. My advice would be to just play your normal winning game and wait for better cards-hands to start coming. If you feel like you're really in a funk, move some money to another site and play there for awhile - or play a different game at a lower level - or take a break (you are not making a living at 0.5/1.0 limit after all).

you can't say that you know "i am at the beggining of my first big downswing".
It is the same as saying. Jeezz i lost 3 coin-flips in a row. looks like my first 10 missed coinflips series has started.
Just keep playing your A-poker.
And don't consider card dead run of 200 hands as a downswing.

I have gone on multiple downswings just getting my bankroll from $100 to $3000+. It happens and in the moment there is nothing you can do to make it up except play good poker. You will hardly remember how bad it felt once you are up another 20 buy-ins after hitting that down-swing.

1.) Make sure you are playing well
2.) Play more

Dont let variance get to you, just focusing on playing your best.
