Default help new player with correct betting

New to P/L omaha - regular hold em player. I keep getting burnt when flop nuts - e.g. J10 on 789 flop I bet the pot then on the turn a flush or a full house comes. Or flopping top set and betting all the way to river and str8 or flush comes.
Started waiting until turn and seeing if still have nut hand before big bet now is this correct in a full ring game or should still make pot sized bet on flop?

Default Re: help new player with correct betting

there are several aspects for betting hands in omaha. namely, if you are betting it is much easier to bet with position on the other players, If your opponents are more aggressive, you may be able to check raise the flop with the nuts. If you post specific hands, ppl will discuss their thought processes with you. One thing you might look at when you play is whether you have redraws to even better nuts. Occasionally, someone will have the same str8 as you with additional redraws to flushes and higher str8s. Post examples and people will try to be helpful.
