Default Standard Deviation question

Say two players play heads up.
Also assume that player A is twice as good as player B and will win on average 66% of the time

What is the likelihood of Player B winning 7 out of 10 matches? What is the standard deviation?

Default Re: Standard Deviation question

Plug the values into a binomial calculator and you can see the distribution of outcomes. n is number of trials (=10), p is probability (=0.33), t is the distribution you're interested in (wins>=7). Plugging these values into the first calculator below shows that player B will win 7 or more games only 1.85% of the time.

http://www.swogstat.org/stat/public/...calculator.htm (non java)

BTW the binomial distribution applies to any scenario where a fixed probability is run several times. Examples would be tossing a coin, a series of flop all ins with 80% equity, etc.
