Re: NL100: AA played too weakly?
I don't think you played this badly.
Flop - His miniraise could be a J that he is trying to milk you with. It could also be a K or a draw. I like the call. Turn - He bet less than 1/3 of the pot. Easy call. River - If he is bluffing, it is a ridiculous amount to bet. If he had a missed draw, a bet of say $40 would be a good bluff. He's not bluffing, I would fold too. You may get some responses recommending betting out on the turn. I think that would be a decent idea on a different board, but here you have all high cards and the board is paired. An astute player might understand that you are putting out a blocking bet, and raise you even without the J, thinking you will probably fold a lot of hands. He will only fold complete air to a turn bet (and it looks like he has something). And if he calls your turn bet, what does that tell you? Not much. I think there are a lot of times to play AA passively, especially OOP, and this appears to be one of them. Yes, there are some draws to worry about, but heads-up, OOP, with a good calling hand . . . I don't hate how you played it. Be good, Augie |

Fine, though I mix in leading turn sometimes.

Re: NL100: AA played too weakly?
I would bet a little bigger on the flop, sort of a minor adjustment though. otherwise it's fine, these spots suck.

Re: NL100: AA played too weakly?
Played fine I might have raised the turn and been happy to take it down there or check fold the river if he calls, but hell I am a donk. He might have made that odd turn bet to get you to smell weakness and raise or maybe he had a king and thought if you had a jack you would raise and he would get away cheap.
