Preflop is fine.

Raise flop, it woul've made the turn decision easier, and gotten more $ in with almost certainly the best of it.

Call turn.

Raise preflop, raise flop, fold turn (you no longer beat much).

i think i played this very badly. thanks for the advice.

the reason you raise preflop is that their hand range is mostly small pairs, you have position and can absolutely molest them, also the wider your range, the worse off they are setmining, so barring them being someone capable of taking tricky lines, you make a bunch off them

just to clarify, so you raise to 5 bb here with 9T suited on the button with one limper?

As tempting as it is to slowplay you should definitely play the flop faster, giving a free card here is dangerous because if another heart comes youll have to fold to serious turn aggression not to mention letting the board pair
