I get double turn-river checkraised against relative unknown
40/80 online
fish just left the table, so Im going to sit out in a few hands. I'm HU with an unknown - I asked a friend about him and he told me he was a very solid 300/600 reg. I raise sb J9o, he calls. Flop is J74 rainbow, he check calls. Turn is offsuit K, he checkraises, I pause maybe 2 seconds and call. River is a 4, no flush. He checks, I bet, and now he checkraises again! I'm put in this sort of situation so rarely, I feel pretty lost. |

Re: I get double turn-river checkraised against relative unknown
check behind river he has no check calling hands after he checks to you on the river. hes either going to fold or checkraise. if you decide to bet its to induce a bluff raise which you have to call.

[/ QUOTE ] this is the best line, you are trying to squeeze value out here that isnt even existent. His c/r turn could easily be a move since an over came out, i cant imagine him c/r river tho cuz he woulda let out a big hand, i call unhappily and take notes for future hands |

Re: I get double turn-river checkraised against relative unknown
this is a weak check behind imo and I think you guys are only saying this because I got checkraised.
There are tons of hands he can call with. Yes, a lot of times he will fold a worse hand, but the times he calls with a worse hands outnumbers the times he calls or checkraises with a better hand. |

You don't even have a kicker, how can you say a solid player calls with "tons" of worse hands when you bet the river after you call his turn c/r on that card?

Re: I get double turn-river checkraised against relative unknown
up to the river checkraise, what kind of hand are you putting him on?
To me it seems he realizes I'm not folding and he has a showdownable hand/bluff catcher and he has the discipline to not blindly bet the river. |

Re: I get double turn-river checkraised against relative unknown
I didn't mention that he made a ridiculously light calldown in a previous hand I'd played (K high unimproved a spot that didn't warrant it). He's not a "solid" player hes a tough player.
