2006 WSOP: Tilley favored over 4 former WSOP champs?
Yes I know it's early, but I was suprised to see Jennifer Tilley as a bigger favorite to win the WSOP main event than 4 former champions.
Odds to win WSOP main event, (from Betusa.com) Jennifer Tilley: 1500-1 Brad Daughtery: 2000-1 Noel Furlong: 2000-1 Chris Moneymaker: 2000-1 Robert Varkonyi: 2000-1 Other notables: Joe Hachem: 1000-1 Steve Dannenmann: 2000-1 Fossilman: 750-1 Phil Ivey (favorite): 200-1 Tiffany Williamsen: 2000-1 (same as David Sklansky) |

200:1 on Phil Ivey is ridiculous. Nobody is that much of a favorite

Tilly--fine being higher than those 4...although I would say that Varkonyi plays much better now than he did when he won....but I'm pretty sure that I have a bettere chance than moneymaker .
wow nothing against steve dannenmann, but no way he's got the same odds as Sklansky and Tiffany Willaimsen as well...wtf they should both be less than even odds EDIT: oh and 200:1 on ivey...ummm I don't think that people understand how poker works |

At what point would you put say $100 on Ivey?
1000 to 1? 5000 to 1? And I noticed there was no "Rest of Field" option this year. Not sure what the field paid last year. |

best bet you could make, and possibly the only one I would lay money down on, is that a man will win it.

The more I look at it, the more I like Hoyt Corkins at 1000-1. He seems to be an "All-in" type of guy who either busts out early or makes a final table. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not sure if you're serious or not, but no I dont think I would. A man is almost guaranteed to win, its pretty much a lock bet. |
