Default NBC HU Kaplan replacement

Am I the only one who can't stand the new guy? He is just trying way to hard. He is one of the biggexst tools I have ever seen on TV.

The new guy is Ali Nejad AKA "the voice" on PAD.

Kaplan probably is the best Poker announcer but I don't really think Nejad is that bad.

I like Ali. His work on PAD is great. He doesn't say too much, adds in some context and takes the ocassional shot at Matusow. He's performing well in that role.

As for Heads Up...nothing wrong with him thus far.

PPT was the worst I've ever seen, nothing else is even close. Everytime one of those morons opined "they really want this bad" I wanted to reach through the screen and slap the [censored] out of them. I think Seif was the worse of the two. If anyone ever hires him again they deserve the worst bad beat in the history of ratings.

I'm not sure how they edit PAD, might be his remarks weren't spontaneous. That said he had some classic lines, especially when he bagged on Hellmuth for his slicked back hair and leather jacket--he stopped off en route to an audition for Grease.

Nejad does just fine. He obviously understands the game and knows why someone makes a certain play.

Example: a tight pro calls an aggro player's flop C-bet with 8-high no draw.

Norman Chad: "OMG! He just called with 8 high! Lon, I'm starting to think he's been taking the same medicine my ex-wife took when she married me. What's he doing still in the hand???"

Nejad: "Barry's reading some weakness in Mizrachi here, and obviously plans to take the pot away on the turn."

I don't think Norman Chad doesn't know that stuff. I think he figures its obvious that is what's going on, which it is. Ali Nejad (as well as all the other announcers aside from Gabe, esp the idiots on PPT, and Superstars) state the obvious and don't state the more interesting stuff. For example, if one of these guys had been doing HSP these past 3 seasons, theres no way they would have commented that Phil Laak did his "Exact bet" number thingy this season when he had nothing, while last season he had a big hand everytime. I really thought I had a tell on him last season, good thing I didn't play this season, would have gone broke.

Everyone but Gabe seems to miss these obvious BUT interesting things, and just state the boringly obvious.
