PS 100NL, 200bb deep, standard?
Sorry for the crappy title but it's been a long time since I started a thread about a hand of mine. I'm also at school so no hh for you, simply a recreation from memory...I know, double whammy. First the crappy title and now no hh. I appreciate y'all dealin with it, responses about play on all streets is appreciated but river is probly the only place it's even close to questionable.
Villian is a trapper from what I've seen, stacked off when he slowplayed AA pf. No stats up yet but he's only been at the table for ~15 hands or so. Fwiw, I'm raising very liberally from the button and was may have been caught double barrelling at this table since villian sat, can't be sure though. I'm on the button, Villian is bb, effective stacks are 200 Two limps to me with 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and I make my standard raise to 5.50, bb calls others fold. Flop ($13) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]: Villian checks, I bet 13, villian calls. Turn ($39) a blank, we'll call it 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villian checks, I bet 32, villian calls. River ($103) J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villian pushes for ~150-155. I...? Thoughts: WTF would he open push the river J with? He was trapping earlier and his play here wreaks of 55, and obv not 33. It's almost like JJ thought the only way to make any money on the end was to overbet push to look like a bluff, but that's probly too deep. W/o reads do we ever want to fold this giving Villian that much credit? Edit: Meh, I already regret posting the hand. It's pretty simple I spose. I guess I'll let you guys tell me it's standard and harp on me a bit for wasting board space. |

Wow against a normal villian I couldn't see anything we beat here but given your image and that of villian I think we can call here and see j-x, overpair often enough to be profitable

call and expect to see JX much more often than 55/88

I would fold if I was playing NL Omaha.

Call, your hand is pretty well concealed. He could easily have a jack putting you on an overpair. 55 is unlikely - would he check it twice? Anyways, my first point alone is enough to call these odds.

Thanks guys, like I said, standard. Just seemed like an odd push by Villian.
