How to clear PokerStars Bonus?????

Hi

I have just signed up to pokerstars using the first2007 bonus code which gives me (i hope) $50 after 100FPPs and another $50 after 500FPPs - I only deposited $50 and so am playing at the low stake NL games. From what I have read, you can only earn a FPP if the hand is raked at 40c or more, and I don't think that this will ever happen at the 5NL games.

How can I clear this bonus with $50? Do I go in short staked to a 10NL or 25NL and play ultra tight until the bonus is cleared or is there another way?

BTW - if you fold your hand pre-flop without putting any money in, do you still earn FPPs?

use bonuswhores.com...they'll show u how the FPP's are distributed based on the pot size and a chart showing how the bonus clears at different levels...

If you are dealt cards in a hand at PokerStars and the hand becomes raked you get your FPP. You do not have to contribute any money to the pot.

Bonuswhores lists the clearance rate for $ 25 NL at 1 dollar an hour. So it will probably clear agonizingly slowly at $ 5 no limit.

Just keep grinding, play good poker and build your roll. Good luck.

So should I just take $5 to a 25NL full ring table and just play really tight hoping the rest will build big pots which will reach 40c in rake?

i got about 90 fpp/h when 12-tableing short stack strategy at nl25 fr. if you play 6 tables, that would still be 45 fpp/h. thats about 30bb/h in bonus at this level. pretty easy to clear imo.

BTW - what is short stack strategy - I have always been told to go in full stack - how should you adapt you play short stacked? As far as I am concerned - I don't want to loose my $50 so I will buy in $5 on 4 tables and play tighter than ever before.

Is the above the correct way to go about it?

Even better at these limits if you play O8. But with only $50 you could go broke due to variance befor you clear it at these level.

You've got 6 months to clear the bonus.
At 5NL, you'll never clear it.

My advice to you: keep playing 5NL for a while and forget about the bonus. Build a bankroll, and within a few months you can play on 25NL or 50NL. There you can start clearing the bonus.

The $1+0.10 turbo sng's give you 1 FPP as well, so you could try to play 500 of those.
