Default 100NL extracting with sets

The situation is: I hit a set on flop after a PF raise. Board is A-high and there are 2 of same suit on flop. Often I try to rep. an FD in these situations so that villain will put nice bets into pot in order to protect against FD. Hopefully this gets him pot committed and I can raise turn or river.
Obviously, there is a risk that third flush card hits and I lose action. But alot of times when I raise on flop action slows down too.

I don't always do this but is this a leak? Should I not usually do this?

Here is an example hand I had tonight:

relevant stack sizes are $100 for hero and villain. Hero has position for this example but I am interested also in how strategy might change if hero is OOP.

Hero is dealt 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG folds, Villain raises to $4, MP2 calls, Hero calls from CO. Everyone else folds

Flop (pot $13.50): A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villain bets $8, MP2 folds, Hero calls (quickly)

Should I usually raise here instead?

Yes. The flush will kill your action.

How much would you usually raise here?

Also, if you were OOP, would you lead or c/r?
I think lead is better since c/r is a really strong move and I don't want to scare villain too much. Is this correct?

Check flop and check turn, obviously.

Sorry, wrong thread.

Yes, you have to raise flop. Flush kills you action/hand. A big ace is likely to pay you off/felt his hand. If he doesn't have a ace you weren't going to get much out of him anyway unless he outdraws you (flush/gutshot). I'd raise to at least $20, usually about $24.

If I'm OOP, I'll usually lead flop but it depends on villain and how he's likely to respond to a checkraise. If he's a donk I might checkraise if I think he'll push a big ace. If he's decent, I'll lead flop because that's how I'd also play draws.
