People who wear poker gear
I play mostly 1/2 NL and sometimes 2/5 NL hold 'em and I've noticed that anyone at these levels who wears gear from poker sites hasn't a clue how to play good. Of course it doesn't apply to everyone but it's something I've been noticing over the past month or so. Maybe it's a phenomenon of Atlantic City poker? Anyone else besides me notice this?
Remember I'm talking about lower limit games - I don't speak from experience about higher limits. |

Re: People who wear poker gear
This really can vary. I've played with people who weren't that bad wearing poker stuff, but most people suck bad. What I never understood (and maybe I'm just naive) why anyone would want to admit to playing online. Everyone knows that online is tougher, and I'm always trying to maintain the "I'm just here to have fun"/ "I'm not a serious player" look.

Re: People who wear poker gear
Back in the old days, if you sat next to a player wearing a smelly old Members Only jacket with a Mirage patch it meant something....times have changed.

Re: People who wear poker gear
I would give someone wearing poker gear a little more respect than a person whom i've never played with before but that will only last until i've seen how they play.

Re: People who wear poker gear
I always wear my Empire Poker watch to any live game, but I hope that nobody notices it. It's tough for me to leave it behind, it's kind of a good luck charm. You remember, 2004/2005 ... them was the days.

Re: People who wear poker gear
I try to ask them how they got their gear. If they say "I got enough FPPs" (or something to that effect), I mark them as a fish.
In my opinion, anyone that uses FPPs for anything other than tournament buy-ins is a moron. |

I probably wouldn't even notice a watch. For those who are non-believers, keep an eye out for the poker gear wearing people. |
