Default Set vs gutshot straight on the board

CO is very loose and aggressive (VPIP in the 80s) but he is also showing down quite a few good hands.
Is this a call or fold?

Make it at least $1 pf please. As played river is obv fold. He probably has T7 or QT and punishes you for not having raised properly pf.

Your river check could easily induce a bluff from a highly aggressive opponent. I'm probably calling here, but not liking it.

Not obvious, but this is a sick spot.

This is not the right way to approach the hand. You are not considering the times when he doesn't suck out and gives us mass value with his crap offsuit hand. Or when the flop is terrible and you can get away from 88 easily. Preflop is a small small mistake, but it has little to do with hero getting into this tough spot.

How often does he have a 7 or a Q here though? Isn't it more likely that he's drawing to a J? I mean I realize it's 25nl and they're not great opponents, but if he's showing down good hands, you'd think he'd be smart enough not to draw with a 7. I mean, JT, J9, a bunch of hands are in his range that we beat, but I'm not sure if I like calling here.

I'd be much much more inclined to fold here if the river were a 7 rather than a J. I think that you're beat some of the time but the river check sooooo induces a bluff from this kind of villain. I think that this is pretty close and I might not be able to peel myself away from it. Also more preflop, and I bet $6 on the turn.

Thanks for the help folks. I'm trying to learn to be more aggressive and it's not going so well.
BTW, I ended up agonizing over it until it timed out and folded for me. (He of course didn't show)
