call push from SB w/ 45o?
1 table SNG $65+6
4 left blinds are 300/600 UTG has 8200 button has 880 hero (SB) has 845 left after the 300 SB BB has 2820 left after the 600 BB button pushes (880), hero has 45o. its 580 to hero and 280 to BB. call or fold? at this site, if 2 players go out on the same hand, the player who had the larger stack at the start of the hand places higher. (would be the hero if both SB and button bust out here) |

I'd Fold.
Even if the button wins vs BB he'll be under pressure from the blinds again before you. WesC |

Easiest fold ever?
How are you playing 65$ when asking questions like this. BB is calling with any 2, or he should. |

Re: call push from SB w/ 45o?
Fold and hope the big stack wins. If not, uh, well, get lucky the next hand or two. I don't think pushing 45o into a basically guaranteed 3-way pot where you have to beat 2 players just to not bust out can be possibly +$EV, especially when if the other small stack busts here you are ITM.
This seems like a spot that is borderline +/-cEV and definitely -$EV. |

How are you playing 65$ when asking questions like this. BB is calling with any 2, or he should. [/ QUOTE ] I apologize, your highness. I folded, and did some rough analysis afterwords and came to the conclusion that folding was right, but barely. I have calling worth roughly 12.5% of the prize pool, and folding worth roughly 14%. I got these numbers by estimating the likelihood of every possible outcome, both if i fold and if i call. (with estimates of placing 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th). Yes, I'm assuming BB calls 100% of the time I folded, and I believe folding was right, but it might be closer than you think. I just was curious if anyone calls here or in a similiar situation. |

remember that if we both lose, I am in the money. my chances of finishing ITM probably improve by calling.

How would the big blind not push after you call?

Re: call push from SB w/ 45o?
A more interesting question might be "what is the worst hand you'd call in this spot?".
I think you're right to be pretty tight. The other short stack shouldn't be getting involved here with junk given the BB is always calling. Top 30% maybe? |
