PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
MP ($11.95) CO ($7.90) Button ($11) SB ($10.20) BB ($12.65) Hero ($10.20) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero calls $0.10, 1 fold, CO raises to $0.5, 1 fold, SB raises to $1.6, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.50, CO calls $1.10. Flop: ($4.90) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, Hero bets $3, CO folds, SB folds. Final Pot: $7.90 I decided to limp/reraise preflop because of the aggressive table. After SB's raise I thought it would be better to call so that CO would call. How's my flop bet? Should I check here hoping that someone bluffs or hits their AK/AQ? |

I would have carried through with the limp-reraise (to, like, $4 or $5), with the plan of pushing on the flop if called. Sure, the limp/4-bet kind of gives your hand away, but it's looking like SB may be attached to whatever he's got, so he may call anyway.
As played, I think the flop bet is fine. |

I definitely 4bet here. Chances are SB will call with big pairs. If he calls with queens and a king flops it could kill your action. You'd be surprised how many guys will stack off preflop with as little as 99 at 10NL. You might be able to get them to both call, which imo is great. Maybe more variance, but more money longterm.

Yeah, that's a good point. I was figuring SB would CB most flops, but aces or kings could scare him if he has JJ or QQ.

I hate this so much it's funny lol. Is limp reraising the in thing right now? Then you didn't even do it! You call and want to play a 3 bet pot against 2 people out of position. Maybe it's just me.. I never slowplay AA. At this level mabybe u get some donk with KJo that will call a 5 bet.. or if u raise/4 bet preflop.. but even most true donkeys aren't stacking off with KJo on a flop like that.

Is limp reraising the in thing right now? [/ QUOTE ] Nah, it seems like lately for me most of my hands with AA go like this: Hero raises to 4x BB. 5 folds. As some compensation, some of my hands with, say, QJs or 77 also go this way. And I believe my latest limp-reraise went something like this: Hero calls, 4 folds, Villain checks. Check, Hero bets 2/3 pot, Villain folds. The one before that was "successful" in a Sklansky-bucks sense, as the LAG in the SB that my limp-reraise was aimed at played his KQo versus my KK for a huge preflop pot, and then he checkraised all-in on a T9x flop. But then he caught his jack on the river . |
