Default Odd Hand in the $11 15K Gtd.

This hand occured in the PS $11 15K Gtd last night. Table was fairly tight as we going through ITM bubbles. Reads on button: He had made some very strange bet/folds earlier where he was getting great odds to call. At one point he raised 2/5ths of his stack UTG and folded to a BB shove.

Thoughts on Hero's play?

One question, are you trying to fold out hands like JJ-KK with this bet? If so then I dont really like it. Villian has committed more than half his stack and is unlikely to fold his big pair IMO. I'm having trouble finding hands that we beat that villian would call with, and I don't see us folding out any hands were already losing to.

Obvioulsy. Do you really think I shoved trying to get an Ace to fold?

Okay, let me go over my thoughts.

I made my standard raise PF. This guy (who has made some weird plays in the past) min-raises me. I have pretty good odds to call, but an argument could be made for folding here.

Anyhow I call and the flop comes. Well [censored]. I hit a pair, but the A is pretty scary. Well, I could check but then I don't know what to do when he shoves (which is probably 100% of the time). I'll probably have to call b/c he is probably shoving a lot of hands that I check to. And yes, he is never folding an Ace.

So given that I am probably going to call when he shoves anyway, I figured I might as well shove to represent the Ace in case he doesn't have one. Given that he has made some odd folds before, he might fold JJ-KK. Logical? Illogical?

When I think about it this is probably the best play you could have made. Since your probably calling his shove anyway, you at least created some FE. Now that I think about it I like this alot more.

I didn't notice villain's stack size first time. I just fold this preflop after the min re-raise.
