Go find a bank, take out a small loan and leave the car as collateral.

http://www.iconparking.com/index.asp

I went there and picked the Soho area for tommorow from noon to 7pm and it said the total price would be $26.00.

Is this correct? or some kind of scam i don't understand

It really depends what neighborhood you're trying to park in. If you're trying to find a spot in a residential area you can usually spot one within 15-20 minutes of searching. If you want to park in midtown, enjoy paying for a garage.

Honestly I don't know because I always tried to avoid using them at all cost. That sounds like too little to me though. They are generally a huge ripoff.

Good luck.

2-3 hours in a garage ran me about $18-$20 in east and south Manhattan a couple weeks ago.
I couldn't find jack for non-garage parking that wasn't commercial only.
didn't park for any longer periods than 2-3 hours.
