OK, so below is my diet for one day. I've heard things such as eat 1 gram of protein/1 lb of bodyweight (and that seems to be very much the high end). On this day, I ate about 1.8g/lb. Now, I'm 6'7" and 200 lbs. (25 years old), out of shape, and I can eat a lot more than the normal person and not gain weight. I could get to 190 in under a month to be sure.
Anyways, just trying to give some info relative to my metabolism, size, etc... I'm wondering whether or not I should be concerned for my health if I eat this much over a decent period of time (i.e. diabetes,etc.). I realize I'm bigger than the average person and that I'm trying to gain weight, so obviously I need more calories. But is there a limit to the number of calories you can safely consume? Can I eat this much on a day off (if I can even eat it on a workout day)? Is this just beyond what is necessary for even a "hardgainer"? fwiw, these values are pretty precise and I get carbs and protein each meal. I also take glutamine, fish oil, BCAA's, and a multivitamin. Thanks for any advice. Wow. Just wow. Thats a ton of food. I have no advice. How much more could you eat?
In all seriousness, if you aren't gaining weight and can eat more... Do it. |

Right around a workout, it's a little bit tough. I might be trying to squeeze too much in too quickly. For example, I'll have a meal of pasta and a pound of chicken 2-3 hours before the workout and then a protein shake with creatine and glutamine right before. The shake gets me feeling a little bit light headed, not to the point where I'm at any risk of dropping weights or anything, but enough to be noticable.
Other than that though, I feel like I could probably put 8-9k carbs in a day without too much discomfort. Especially if I get the extra as fat. I haven't done this diet long (probably about a weeks worth since I've been sick since I started it), but I weigh about 4-7 lbs more. Obviously not sure how much of that is just extra food digesting in my gut and water weight, but... |

how long have you been eating like this?
edit: just saw your post...if you have only been on this kind of diet for a week and have already gone up 4-7lbs why would you want to increase it? seems like this amount of gain is likely to be mostly you just getting fatter? |

My diet, however, can be much larger than a typical person's and I can not gain weight even if just watch TV all day. 6. I don't have any reason to think so, as far as I know. 7. None. I hardly ever, never when I'm seriously working out, drink. |
