Default Derby Days $2500 Event @ Canterbury

Anyone else playing in this? How big has the field been in years past?

It's worth the trip just for the juicy 15/30 and 30 60 games, but what is the quality of play like in these tournaments? MN players usually have very little live NLHE experience...

There is a NL tourney every wednesday so MN players play plenty of live tournament NLHE. NLHE cash games and NLHE tournaments are very different animals so just bc there are no cash games does not mean we cant play NL tournaments. There are plenty of horrible players, but the players directly buying in for 2500 will be decent for the most part.

I've played in those Wed. tourneys and that is not tournament NLHE. The structure is a joke and the players are for the most part pretty weak. Any info about the size of the field for this?

That is the same structure you will find in any tournament with buy-in of 300 or less. Its actually not bad compared to the rinky-dink small buy-ins in LA and Vegas. The levels on wednesday are 40 min w 4000 chips. Name a better <$300 structure. Also wasnt claiming the play was tough, bc no tournament field with <$10,000 is at all tough, but you thought that it was worth based on the fact that there is no NL in MN and that is simply not the case.
