This guy was relatively tight. He wasn't involved in many pots, so when he flat called my raise I got a little suspicious. I figured he could easily have an 8, or he could be making a move thinking that I was bluffing. But I thought he could also very easily be slowplaying a higher pair or a 4. Is this an easy fold? |

A good tight player never ever has a 4 here.
WIth your description its not a nice spot to be in, but usually overpair = nuts. if he slowplayed a bigger Pair PF, gg me. I am not folding here ever in a 16$. |

Herc, I have to disagree...
If this guy is tighted as stated, with the way this played out, I have to believe he is sitting on AK (possible) or one of the big pairs (AA, KK, QQ....very maybe JJ, but doubt it). I just have a tough time believing in this situation he is going to get involved with a seriously specutlative hand with the exception of AK. While he might Reraise with the big ones, at this point in the tourny he may be looking to get a large pay off / stack an opponenet when he gets the big hand...then we see a c/r...he is trying to tell us something. As played, I am out of there. Fammy |

This is a friendly tip. You should convert your hand before posting so it looks like this.
PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t100 (8 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com Hero (t1925) UTG+1 (t3495) MP1 (t885) MP2 (t1325) CO (t970) Button (t1070) SB (t1730) BB (t2100) Preflop: Hero is in UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises to t300, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls t200 Flop: (t650) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets t350, BB raises to t1800 (All-in) I think you can fold here. Lots of villains will call a preflop raise with 88, TT-QQ. Some also like to slow play KK and AA. Some will call with A4s also. The only possible hands you have beat are AK, AQ and A8. |

could be flush draws in there too, and this is exactly how you'll see Kxdd or Axdd play along with top pair hands and occasionally AK/AQ. I call but don't expect to be far ahead too often.

[/ QUOTE ] Hero is barely ahead of villain's flush draw. If villain has JTd+ then hero and villain are even 50/50. If villain has J+9d, then hero is ahead 55/45. If villain's small card is 7d or less then hero is 60/40. Over villains entire range, including my previously mentioned cards hero is a dog and should fold. |
