Would it be a mistake to cap the turn?

With an aggression of 5.4 over a decent sample I'm capping the turn, calling a donk on the river, or betting if checked to.

The way it was played I am calling the river, you hate getting three bet here.

River looks like an easy call to me. I don't really like a turn cap, since it'd let villain charge us 2 extra bets when we're losing and his play is very much in line with a flopped set - turned FH.

After his flop c/r and turn bet/3-bet his range is pretty narrow and almost all of it crushes Hero

I call turn hoping to catch a J or a Q. The river is a crying call UI.

Capping the turn is spew and is asking to get owned as villain will c/r his monsters on the river.

Edit:
@ Those who want to cap turn. What range do you put villain on? Do you really think he has a worse J very often here? Do you think he bet/3-bets QQ-AA on this turn and just calls it preflop? This is 99, 55, and Jx with x > T close to 100%. I am sorry, but I think capping the turn is really bad unless we have a specific history with villain or some read that dictates it.

As usual, I 100% agree w/ above. Hero has a good poker hand, but an ok relative hand given the action.

FWIW I´m fairly confident he would 3bet 99 Pf.
When he just calls I expect him to have something he is not worried to play 3 way.

I wanted to cap the turn but could not find a hand he would play this way and I beat but TJ. Fair enough with that river I didn´t like my hand at all.

Depends. You know best what he is calling with preflop. So we know he is calling low pairs, but you are not sure about 99. What about AJ, KJ and QJ? call or 3-bet?

If you have AJ and you are sure he dosent call 99, then you are only scared of J9s and 55. Capping to get value from KJ, QJ and JT is an option but depends on whether you think he 3-bets or calls those preflop. This knowledge requires a pretty good read so against most opponents I would insta cap AJ on the turn.
