Default Riverwind Casino in Norman OK?

Anyone ever been to Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK? I'm going to be in OKC next weekend, and have seen the sign before. Is it any good for $1/$2 NL?

If not, any others around OKC that are?

Yeah, it's a nice room, and IMO the best in the OKC area, though I have not yet played Firelake. The 1/2 is silly soft. No booze and high rake, but welcome to Oklahoma.

$1/$2 is a good game, they usually have multiple tables going

$2/$5 plays really loose as well

sometimes they run $5/$10 HE or Omaha

Was there last night -- for 10 hours. At the high I was up $300. I left up $150 -- a couple bad beats and a coin flip that I didn't win. There was usually 1 or 2 other people at the table that knew what they were doing. The other big stack at the table (who got about $100 from me) was a complete newbie. Here's one hand where he won a lot:

I'm BB w/ KQo; $500 in chips. Newbie is 3 to my left; $300 in chips. 4 limpers, I call. Flop: K72r. I bet $10. Newbie calls. 3 folds. Turn is J. I bet $25. Newbie calls. River is T. I bet $2 (it was a joke at the table; I was doing it in this case as a semi-joke, semi-protection bet). Newbie starts counting chips to raise. I'm laughing telling him to be nice, this is a friendly game (I'm thinking he may have KJ or KT). He bets $30. I kiss my $30 call goodbye (I have to know what he has for future reference). He turns over AQo. Nice. It was hard not to steam too much... I'm getting better at that, but still need to work on it.

At this table, it seemed that people would start betting/raising similarly. So, I started limping with everything. Another good player started doing the same. AK, big pairs, everything. Pretty soon, there was rarely a pre-flop raise. And when there was, there would still be 4-5 callers. I could usually limp in UTG with suited connectors & small pairs. Lots of people seeing most flops. Most of the people are pretty passive/callers too. So it was easy to get paid off big when you hit a monster. You just had to know when to get out of the way.

Anyway, fun times. Was anyone else there last night: noon-10:30pm? (had to leave when my ride did)

I'll be in Vegas this coming Tuesday - Saturday. Can't wait.

correction: the fewest 1/2 NL tables I've ever seen is 4, but I go in the evenings. If you want booze, go to firelake.

they get 1/2 and sometimes 2/5 either Round of Each (NL and PLO) or just plain PLO going on weekends.

Games are very soft. There are a few good players scattered about.

Saw the question.. wasn't there Saturday, but was the Friday nite playing 1/2 PLO.

The above descriptions of Riverwind seem pretty accurate...

So I don't have to start another thread as anyone been out to Newcastle recently? Seemed the happening spot in OKC before Riverwind came in... My guess is it the same 1/2 NL games as everywhere else, right?

Yep. been about 2 weeks. Noticed right off, as I had a donating drunk next to me at a 1/2 NL table. He was annoying, but donated $400. We all were sad when he left and the dealer had a great line: "sure, for you guys there's an upside."

I took 5th in the Newcastle Thursday night tourney last week. The 1/2 game was the same as anywhere else. 1/2 was the highest game they had and they never got a half and half game going
