Which Graphics Card?
Hi Guys,
I've got 2 x LG (1600x1200) 20.1" monitors. I'm obviously going to need a graphics card to cater for two monitors running at our sacred resolution. Can you guys recommend a graphics card that will stand up to the test of time (I also play a little "Oblivion") but isn't ridiculously expensive. I suppose I wouldn't want to spend anymore than $200 (~£130) but the less the better if I can still get a good graphics card. If it appears I cannot get what I need for less than $200, then point me in the right direction as to what I will need to spend and a respective graphics card of choice. Thanks! |

Re: Which Graphics Card?
Almost any dual output card will work for resolutions that low. What kind of praphics port to you have? I.e. AGP or PCI express? Either of these is all you really need:
This is a good dual DVI card: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...d=1149208162540 This all you really need though and you can add another one and if you ever want 4 monitors: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...d=1166235562550 |

Re: Which Graphics Card?
AGP vs PCI? Can someone explain what these are? Can someone explain the difference? How do I tell what is in my PC?
Thanks and much appreciated |

Re: Which Graphics Card?
AGP and PCI-E are just different slot types with different standards.
Newer PCs typically have PCI-E. Just open up your case and take a look. Compare the slot(s) to these pics: http://www.hardware.windowsreinstall...aphicscard.htm |

Buying a second cheap card to add to your existing card is more economical than buying an expensive card and throwing-away your old one. (If you have the space in the case.) This isn't in line with your game-playing; games are video hogs. edit: That being said, I'm building a new machine, and just bought this dual-dvi ePCI card for $135 AR. |
