Vegas: WiFi Hotspots?

Where are some decent WiFi hotspots on the strip? Which hotels have free wireless internet?

Hotels will rarely have free wifi. Why? Because they don't want you sitting in your room. You can pay for it, however. You will find free wifi around. The Coffee and Tea Company in the Aladdin shops has free wifi - even after hours.

Best Western by the airport has free wifi. Also, a decent lobby for sitting in and using it even if you don't stay there. And it's also easy to use from the parking lot, of course.

Get the Verizon Broadband-Access card (or equivilent from Cingular or Sprint I guess) and you don't have to worry about this.

Costs $60/mth.
Speed is a little less than 'true' broadband but it works well enough for me. I get internet in pretty much any decent sized city in the U.S.
Outside the city I get slightly better than dial-up speed pretty much as long as you get a cell-phone signal.

Really nice not to be limited to certain locations or having to pay $10/day in your damn hotel.

If you are looking for a data card - Sprint is mroe of the way to go, speeds are faster and they have free roaming on Verizon and Alltel so you get coverage from all 3 networks

I know you asked about the strip, but I will add, if anyone is interested, that the Plaza downtown had nice wi-fi in the new 2nd floor lobby when I was there about a year ago.

If you use t-mobile, then you can get internet on your phone. You can then use your phone as a modem for your laptop. I have done that and it works fine. Athough I know that a Verizon card is faster. The dirty little secret is that t-mobile will try to sell you on the full internet package ( $29.99 I think ), but you can get internet with the t-zone service ( $6 or so ). You won't get hot spots and some streaming media. But the internet works at an okay speed for email or for looking up things on the web.
