pre-flop is standard

flop is awful. What makes you think that you will make up for those 3 lost sb by waiting for the turn. You did on this hand but sometimes it'll get checked through and other times the button will bet instead of UTG, leaving you in an akward situation.

turn, i've said my piece

river - just bet/call. if it's two back to you then call. You're getting 9-1 and two pair is possible as is top pair.

Raise the flop. REALLY!

You have 2 players trapped and you want them to pay. They will fold on the turn too often. Another thing is, you risk having the turn checked through. That would REALLY suck! Finally if you raise the flop you sometimes get raised on the turn so you can 3-bet.

BTW in a 4-way pot I just bet the flop and hope I get to 3-bet it with multiple players in.

Oh, and river play is bad too. Like JT1 said: bet/call and fold if it gets 3-bet.

Flop is pretty bad, but no need for me to pile on.

The river should be a value bet. Checking is missing way too much value from 3 players that could all pay off w/ worse hands. IOW, some of the time, checking this river will cost you 3 BBs. If the river bet gets raised, I think we can profitably call for 1 more bet in a pot this size.

Thanks for the criticism everyone.

I don't normally "slowplay" (especially with a flush-draw board and multiple opponents). I figured there was a good chance that UTG (PFR) would probably cbet and if I just called on the flop, then I could cr a safe turn, thus getting more BBs (exactly what happened).

Question: I've read posts before where people said to wait to raise the (safe) turn. In what sort of situations do you want to do this? Should you always be in position (unlike posted hand)?

I don't know why I didn't bet the river (I normally would; maybe due to university workload and not seriously playing since 3 months ago). I like the bet/call 1BB and bet/fold to 2BB.

Thanks a lot.

Position is important. But also whether its HU or multiway. Multiway you should almost always jam the pot while you can since some players may fold before the big streets.

Oh, and dont bet/fold to one bet. A river raise can easily be by a two pair hand.
