I'll keep it short because I know how these threads get-
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow night. Never been before. It's an open bar. Do I tip the bartender, or does the wedding party handle that? If so, how much do I tip, and how often? Thanks. |

Yes you tip.... I'd throw $1-2 per drink.

Just stick a sign on your forehead saying, "I Am the Stig" and you'll do fine.

I've been to weddings where the bartenders were already taken care of (though people would still tip because it felt weird not to) and some where tipping was expected. |

Go in assuming you need to tip. $1 per drink is totally fine.
In some cases the bar tenders are barred from accepting tips because they've been compensated. They will let you know. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is the correct answer for busier bar situations. At all of the weddings I've been to, I've never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink. |
