You should not have limped in the first place. Allin push it. As is still have to call as SB can have any 2 cards here and you have to try and win not scoot into second place.

I don't mind the call...worst case is SB pushes and BB folds and you have to fold, but generally the BB won't fold...even if he does he'll be even more crippled than he was before. While the shortie is that short, ensuring second is a bigger concern than winning.

yeah, that was my thinking. i'm a 13 to 1 chip dog to the chipleader, and the chances are at least fair here that if i call, the chipleader calls and we just check it down to the river. if i push all-in, there's also an at least fair chance that the shortstack folds. the high probability of me moving up to getting a guaranteed at-least 2nd finish versus the low probability of me overcoming the ginormous chip disadvantage, makes me not want to give the shortstack a 50/50 shot at 2nd place money here by me pushing, the chipleader calling, and the shortstack folding. if the chipleader went all in here and the shortstack folded, i probably would too, leaving him more crippled

the part i was really wondering about is whether it was better to fold after his all in and the shortstack's call, or if me calling would increase the chances of knocking the shortstack out since if either the chipleader or i win, i'm guaranteed at-least 2nd place money
