Common MSNL leaks..?
I use to think that the most common leak was people not realizing the true importance of position. It is evident that playing OOP (out of position) with marginal holdings against ANY OPPONENT is tough. So calling out of the blinds too loose is a well known leak. Yet, I dont think thats the problem anymore with most players, it seems like the most common leaks I see are...
1.) People who are PFR calling stations- Some people just love calling raises in position with marginal holdings when they should just fold. I am starting to get shocked at a few 3/6 and 5/10 regs on stars by how much they flat call pfr's in position with hands that should be just folded. 2.) People who cant fold to a 3bet- Some people are playing for some type of image. Its just to painful for them to fold preflop so they make calls that are just gross and extremely unprofitable. There are some players that will call pretty much every 3bet and I look for them when choosing my tables. Pretty easy to exploit and I love these players. 3.) Bluffing unknowns- Title says it all. Some people are shocked to be called down so light. Poker is a tough game especially when you are getting played back at a lot so its easy to get frustrated and do everything in your power to win the pot when your hand has no showdown value. But sometimes people are pulling the 2nd or even 3rd trigger or even 3bet bluffing flop when they shouldnt. Usually hands posted in MSNL you see fundamental preflop leaks that are kind of ignored since occasionally it can be okay. Yet, seems like so many people have gone completely retarded and spewy with thier preflop decisions. Got anything else to add? |

4.) Not value betting enough. Especially checking behind way too many turns with TPTKish hands.

Re: Common MSNL leaks..?
2 and 3 are right on the money.
1. I'm not so sure. A lot of times its very contextual. i.e. guys call pfr with junk in pos to people who c/f missed flops is a very good strategy. |

Re: Common MSNL leaks..?
A lot of MSNLers would fare much better if they called PFR instead of 3betting every single time I think, but you are correct that playing too loose preflop is probably a leak for a lot of people
2) I can think of a general gameplan where this is not a leak if you fit it into strategy correctly, maybe. If they aren't adjusting to how you adjust to them then it is a big leak. 3) I love bluffing unknowns and I'm pretty sure I make a lot of money from it, though it does fail often. If you come up with some qualities for a standard unknown and apply these ranges and stuff to your in hand EV calcs you can do well. NOT bluffing unknowns would be a pretty big leak IMO. |

3.) Bluffing unknowns [/ QUOTE ] This is wayyyy too broad. I can think of a million spots where I bluff ALL DAY vs unknowns. Granted, these are typically in small->medium pots, not three barrel bluffs on a dry boards. |

Re: Common MSNL leaks..?
I'll go ahead and put an obvious one up here.
7) Playing too many pots OOP. And maybe a not so obvious one. 8) Not varying bet sizes vs the fish. |

Re: Common MSNL leaks..?
1 and 3 are way off imo
if you play good postflop you can play a ton of hands in position unknown = pussy generally, until i have a read im still gonna make the "standard" bluffs at them |
