Play this hand for me: Flopped set UTG, Turn Sucks
Villain is 20/14 and passive. He's not very good and he folds to flop bets 57.9% of the time
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Hold'em Cash Game $0.50/$1 Blinds 6 Players LegoPoker HH Converter SB: $241.15 BB: $69.40 Hero (UTG): $100 MP: $54.75 CO: $61.95 BTN: $94.50 Preflop: Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 Players) Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, BTN calls $4, SB folds, BB calls $3 Flop: ($12) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $10, BTN calls $10, BB folds Turn: ($32) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero ??? I'm more interested in why you do whichever action. If we check turn and villain bets, then what? If villain checks behind, what's our plan on the river? |

Re: Play this hand for me: Flopped set UTG, Turn Sucks
This looks like a standard bet/fold to me, but although this would seem ideal, I always find that villain raises/folds in this spot and never calls. Obviously, neither are good.

will, just pointing out, but then the fact that you have a set means bupkis if your playing it that way, doesn't it ? Not exactly optimal <3

think you have to bet here to protect against lone [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] if he raises he's got a flush and see what the pots layin.

[/ QUOTE ] If we do that we'll always be getting 2.5 to 1 and will always be paying off the flush. Is that counter balanced by the times he calls holding just a Q? |

[/ QUOTE ] bet/fold seems bad to me. We're 20% to fill on the river. That combined with many non flush hands and the size of the pot are why I'm thinking this. |

What about checking?
I think a lot of bad players check behind with flushes even IP. Sometimes they bet ridiculously small as well. |

[/ QUOTE ] That was my original thought, it just seemed kinda weak so I didn't post it. The fact that he folds so often on the flop really limits is range, imo. I think checking is the best option here. |

20 on the river, and if he's passive I'd sigh then probably fold to a raise.
