Default Defoe to Man U?

Why would they need another striker? Is someone's contract running out?

Why wouldn't they need another striker?

They basically only have Rooney and Gunnar, and I think Rooney is best suited as a SS or AMF.

Next year they will get Saha back, they just got Smith back... what makes them think that Defoe will be happier there than at Spurs? I though this whole whine was that he has to platoon with Berbatov and them.

I completely forgot about Saha for some reason. Oops. I still think United's biggest weakness is depth at Forward.

I really really hope ManU waste a bunch of money for Defoe.

Defoe is really average with a few moments of genius each season

Except Ferguson's played Smith out of position ever since he signed him. But yeah, they'll have Saha back, and they already have at least five other players who can play up front, be it in position (Smith, Rooney, Solskjaer) or out of it because Ferguson's clueless (Giggs, Ronaldo). The last thing they need is another forward, if anything they need a world class centre mid to replace Scholes long term, midfield's been their problem for the last three-four seasons, Carrick's plugged the gap a bit but they still need another player there.

No really, I hope they spend $20+ mil for him instead of a real player. He is just so average. Berbatov is dope though. Actually, the best thing would be for ManU to waste the money elsewhere so Spuds are still stuck with Defoe.

I really like Saha. He reminds me of Andy Cole, but United's gonna get another striker this summer. Saha is good, but not great. And Ferguson doesnt seem to really thrust him completely, for example preferring to play Larsson when he could. Also they need more depth. Smith isnt very good and Solskjær gets injured a lot.

Torres is probably a good bet.
