Two tough live hands, kinda deep 5/10
First hand:
Hero: U$2500 SB: U$2900 UTG: U$1200 My reads on UTG: He was playing alot of hands preflop and calling down light, 2 hands before he made a really retarded play that paid off big when he hitted a two outer with Q5 in a board Q44 against a pair of aces after calling a 50 dollar raise preflop. He bet the flop with Q5 and proceeded to push on the turn filling up on the river. Action starts with UTG making it 50 to go, UTG+2 calls the rest folds and it gets to me on the button I look at 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I decide to call. Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks and I check behind, the turn is: T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] giving me a flush, they all check and I bet 350, SB thinks for 1 minute and calls and the other two fold, the river is Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] which is a brick. He checks to me and the pot is now around U$900, I bet 700 and he thinks for a while and moves all in its U$1400 for me to call, so what now? Results later... Second hand: First I have to explain the rule of the casino about acting out of turn, when you make a raise or a bet out of turn you are only allowed to call or fold, the option of raising or betting is declined to you. OK lets get back to the hand: Hero: U$1200 UTG: U$2400 BB: U$700 No reads on villain I had just got in the game. I have J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the button and the action starts with 6 people limping in before me, I raise it up to 90 and then after I make this raise BB is contemplating calling and by mistake (at least it seemed so) UTG announces raise to 250 but since he acted out of turn he was forced to only call, BB called before him as well, 2 more people called. Flop came: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, UTG bets U$200 everybody folds and the action gets to me, I think for a while and decide to min-raise him to 400, he seems to be thinking about moving in but he decides to just smooth call and I think he thinks he is trapping me with aces or some big pair, so the turn comes the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] leaving the board with J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], he looks to me and checks I think that betting here has no value since he is stacking me every time with aces and folding kings and queens most of the times, so I decide to check behind the river is the Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] he quickly announces a bet of 750 and I.... I think these are very interesting hands if you really take a look at it, I'll post results later. |

Re: Two tough live hands, kinda deep 5/10
Hand 1 i can picture folding...his line is sooo strong
Hand 2: You have like nothing back after he bets 750 so just shove for like the extra 50. No way you can fold here.... |

Re: Two tough live hands, kinda deep 5/10
need more information about SB but as played I like a fold but I don't know if I always can do it...it seems that you are facing a strong line...Wish i was there to see it I think its very close either way
You have to call in hand 2 unless you are absolutely certain on his mannerisms and whatnot I'm sure the internet players might get on me for this but...sometimes they have the hand printed on their forehead.... |

Re: Two tough live hands, kinda deep 5/10
Why is he line on hand one so strong? I think my hand is under represented and he thinks he can push me off a decent hand which I could be value betting after all the check calling and he may think I have air which is understandable but have no showdown equity, he is pretty old and I'm 20 years old he probably thinks I'm a nit who won't call without the nuts.

Re: Two tough live hands, kinda deep 5/10
Hand 1: No flop bet? You pass up on a lot of equity checking here. I think the check is fine with a bare FD/SD, but with this hand, you'd rather get some money in on the flop and take a free turn card, if you need it.
[ QUOTE ] he is pretty old [/ QUOTE ] Fold river, he has the nuts. Hand 2: Sure looks like AA/QQ... I probably don't get away, though. I don't think I've ever folded an overfull, though. Putting in the last $50, with your read, would be retarded. |
