Steamed Clams
I'm thinking about getting steamed clams as an appetizer at my local Italian restaurant after reading some good things about their nutritional value. I've asked some friends but none of them have tried them before.
My Taste: I like sushi, and occasionally I will eat some salmon, trout, or mahi-mahi. I'm not a big fan of shrimp or lobster really, but I kind of like lobster (though I will most always go for steak instead). My Questions: Can anyone describe the taste of steamed clams, the eating method, things to try it with, etc. What is the probability I will enjoy them? |

Re: Steamed Clams
Skinner: I hope you're ready for mouth watering hamburgers!
Chalmers: I thought we were having steamed clams? Skinner: Oh no, I said steamed hams. That's what I call hamburgers. Chalmers: You call hamburgers "steamed hams"? Skinner: Yes. It's a regional dialogue. Chalmers: Uh.. what region? Skinner: Uuuh. Upstate New York. Chalmers: Really? Well I'm from Utica and I've never heard anyone use the phrase "steamed hams". Skinner: Oh not in Utica, no, it's an Albany expression. Chalmers: Uh I see. You know these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burgers. Skinner: Hohohoho. No. Patented Skinner Burgers. Old family recipie. Chalmers: For.. steamed hams. Skinner: Yes Chalmers: Yes, and you call them steamed hams despite the fact they are obviously grilled. |
