Default Calling an all-in with +20 outs?

I am playing at a home game against a very LAGy player. He raises 5bb preflop, I reraise to 12bb on the button with 89s. He calls.

Flop is: 3h,6s,7s

He pushes all in for 39bb. I call his all in.

Is this the correct play in this particular situation?

In Texas Hold Them, we vary our play.

Way too shallow and versus a shorty who is likely a gigantic donk this play is pointless.

Just call preflop. Flop is fine and ridiculously standard.
